Missouri lawmakers return to the capital today.

Legislative leaders say they want to enact more limits on liability lawsuits and more laws on unions.

Proposed changes to the state’s tax laws are also likely to come up. Greitens has said he wants a tax overhaul this session, but no details have been given at this time.

“Associated Industries of Missouri will be pursuing many items again this year, including some additional tort reform measures and tax improvements,” said Ray McCarty, president and CEO of Associated Industries of Missouri. “We are happy to see Senate President Pro Tem Ron Richard has again prioritized economic development and we know the commitment of Speaker Todd Richardson to continued tort reform will make this a very interesting session for employers and we will work hard to ensure it is a positive one,” said McCarty.
