DED Director Rob Dixon's Departure

September 28, 2021 - Today, Department of Economic Development (DED) Director Rob Dixon announced he is leaving DED, effective October 22, 2021, to take a new post with Ameren Missouri.

“We are excited for Director Dixon as he enters this next chapter of his career,” Governor Mike Parson said. “Rob has built an incredibly strong team at DED, and while we will miss his leadership and common sense approach, we know DED’s passionate and dedicated team members will help ensure a smooth transition and continue serving Missourians without delay.”

“Rob’s love for this state has helped bring greater opportunity to thousands of Missourians, and Teresa and I thank him for his service and wish him the best in his new role and all that comes next,” Governor Parson continued.

"We wish Rob all the best as he has served the state's taxpayers well during his tenure leading the Department of Economic Development and prior to that in various economic development and workforce development roles," said Ray McCarty, president and CEO of Associated Industries of Missouri. "While we are sad to see him leave the Department, we wish him great success in the private sector and look forward to working with his replacement."

Dixon has served as DED Director since July 2017. During his tenure, he helped develop Missouri's Best in Midwest initiative, create the Missouri One Start program, and complete several major economic development projects.

Governor Parson is considering candidates to lead DED in the interim until a permanent replacement can be appointed. An acting director will be announced prior to Director Dixon's departure on October 22.
