Sen. Roy Blunt wins 2020 Champion of Healthy Seniors Award

July 29, 2020 - Earlier today, AIM President and CEO Ray McCarty joined advocates across Missouri to present Senator Roy Blunt with the 2020 Champion of Healthy Seniors award on behalf of the Partnership to Fight Chronic Disease.

McCarty congratulated the Senator along with representatives from the Epilepsy Foundation of Missouri and Kansas, empower: abilities and the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Southwest Missouri.

Senator Blunt received this award in part for his efforts to protect Medicare Part B and D from dangerous price-controls that could limit access for patients and have a negative impact on research and development of new drugs and therapies. McCarty told Sen. Blunt Associated Industries of Missouri members greatly appreciated his work to stop irresponsible price control legislation at the federal level, just as AIM has worked to stop such legislation at the state level.

Senator Blunt highlighted the success of Medicare Part D was due to the free-market system which was proving successful for patients and taxpayers.
