Matthew Smith has joined the Associated Industries of Missouri team as Vice President of Government Affairs.
Smith previously held the position of Legislative Assistant for Congressman Eric Burlison in Washington, D.C., and was a member of then-Senator Burlison's staff in the Missouri Senate. He has experience managing political campaigns and a deep understanding of the legislative process and business issues.
"We are excited to announce Matthew Smith will be heading up our government affairs efforts at a critical time when the business community needs the best representation," said Ray McCarty, president and CEO, Associated Industries of Missouri. "Matthew's experience with Missouri legislation and the legislative process made him an ideal candidate for this position and he has already hit the ground running. Employers in Missouri will be well represented with Matthew and our contract lobbyists," said McCarty.
Associated Industries of Missouri is the state's oldest general business trade association and is consistently known as "The Voice of Missouri Business (R)." Matthew may be reached at: msmith@aimo.com.
