AIM Chairman of the Board and Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner Attorney Jerry Hunter, Attorney General Eric Schmitt, and AIM President/CEO Ray McCarty
The 2019 Legislative Session began on January 9 with the swearing in of new legislators and officials.
“This session, we are looking forward to accomplishing some great things for Missouri businesses,” said Ray McCarty, president and CEO of Associated Industries of Missouri. “AIM is celebrating 100 years of protecting and serving Missouri businesses in the state capitol this year. Tort reform, tax issues and work comp issues will make for a very active session. And of course, just like in sports, a strong defense will be necessary to protect Missouri businesses,” he said.
The first day consisted of meetings and many ceremonies and receptions, including the Legislative Ball. The real work will begin shortly as committees are appointed and bills begin their journey through the process.
