Wood energy tax credit extension supported

February 4, 2020 - Associated Industries of Missouri supported SB 674, sponsored by Sen. Justin Brown, an extension of the Wood Energy Tax Credit in a hearing of the Senate Economic Development Committee today.

AIM president and CEO Ray McCarty testified the credit serves an environmental purpose by providing an incentive to reuse sawdust in a way that produces energy and helps Missouri charcoal and pellet manufacturers remain competitive. He cited a briquette manufacturing operation in Belle, MO, as one of the top employers in the region.

No action was taken on the bill.
