In the wake of President Obama’s sweeping environmental pronouncement of Monday August 3, KMOX Radio in St. Louis turned to the President/CEO of Associated Industries of Missouri on Tuesday for some balance.
For the second time in a little less than a month, Ray McCarty provided the Voice of Misso
uri Business to the radio station’s vast audience. During his interview with fill-in host, attorney Jane Dueker, McCarty used facts to refute the environmentalists’ claims that new emission standards for coal-burning power generating plants will wind up saving consumers money.
McCarty pointed out that even by the EPA’s own estimates, its new standards would wind up raising electricity rates up to 12 percent. Meanwhile McCarty warned that not only would electricity rates rise due to the new EPA standards, so would prices of everyday items.
