Jefferson City – The House Economic Development Committee is scheduled to meet and vote on a version of SB 8, the economic development legislation, on Wednesday, October 5, at 2:00 p.m. in House Hearing Room 3. There will be no testimony at the hearing, only discussion and vote by the Committee. Procedurally, the next step would be to send the bill to the House Rules Committee which has also posted a hearing for 5:00 p.m. Wednesday. The bill could be considered by the full House on Thursday.
If the House changes the bill (as expected), the bill will be referred to the Senate for their consideration following the House’s work. Any differences would need to be resolved by a conference committee, although House leadership has stated publicly they are not interested in considering the bill in conference.
