Members of the Missouri Senate’s Judiciary and Civil and Criminal Jurisprudence Committee Monday evening voted “Do Pass” on a couple pieces of important legislation.
Senate Bill 490, sponsored by Sen. Brad Lager (R-Savannah), makes changes to the law that protects corporate whistleblowers.
Senate Bill 706, sponsored by Sen. Mike Cunningham (R-Rogersville) seeks to control so-called “patent-trolling”.
Associated Industries of Missouri supports legislation on these issues, but is cautious about the wording of each. AIM president Ray McCarty says he will continue to work with the sponsors of each bill to make sure current wording does not lead to unintended consequences.
Both bills are now headed for the Senate floor for debate.
