Senate Adjourns Special Session

October 25, 2011 – Moments ago, the Missouri Senate adjourned the special legislative session.

Senate President Pro Tem Robert Mayer said in a statement issued last Friday, October 21, “I believe we are at an impasse, and the  differences are irreconcilable in the short time remaining in special  session. As such, on Monday, Oct. 17, a determination was made that the  only remaining viable option was for the Senate to make a motion for the House  to pass the Senate version of SB8.”

The House has not adjourned at this time, but it takes both chambers to pass legislation, so the adjournment of the Senate effectively ends the special legislative session.
