Nixon on hot seat for Ferguson non-response as businesses burned

On Wednesday, a press conference and legislative hearing was held regarding the actions of Governor Jay Nixon following the announcement of the St. Louis County Grand Jury’s decision in the Michael Brown shooting case. Under special scrutiny was the governor’s use, or lack thereof, of the National Guard. As you read this excellent wrap up of the day’s news conference and legislative hearing by Eli Yokley of PoliticMo, you will see that business owners in Ferguson had very little protection from rioters who looted and burned their buildings while the National Guard stood by at the command of the governor.
