NAM: Manufacturers shoulder the burden of new ozone regulation

by Mallory Micetich

Washington, D.C., June 8, 2016 – National Association of Manufacturers Vice President of Energy and Resources Policy Ross Eisenberg issued the following statement after the House approved the Ozone Standards Implementation Act of 2016 (H.R. 4775):

“This commonsense legislation is what manufacturers need to help ease the burden of the overbearing ozone rule while ensuring our nation’s air quality continues to improve. “By setting the strictest ozone standard in history at a time when states and manufacturers are still trying to meet the existing requirements, the administration added another layer of red tape that will hold back job creation. “Manufacturers across the United States have shown that environmental progress and economic growth can go hand in hand, but this regulations move us further from that goal. Manufacturers now call on the Senate to bring an ozone implementation relief bill to the floor for passage.”
