With the 2020 legislative session on the horizon, legislative leaders on both sides of the aisle are discussing the importance of funding our state’s transportation infrastructure. Missouri has the 7th largest highway system in the country, but is 48th nationally when it come to revenue per mile. In 2019, action was taken with a 50 million dollar one time general revenue allocation to repair or replace aging bridges through the State. However, many lawmakers would like to see a long term solution to funding issues. Lawmakers will return to the State Capitol on Jan. 8 for the start of the Second Regular Session of the 100th General Assembly.
