May 15, 2019 – “Chief Executive” magazine has issued their “2019 Best & Worst States For Business” ranking for 2019, which reflects good news for Missouri.
Missouri improved from its ranking of 30 in 2018 to 24 in 2019. Interestingly, one of the highlights noted by the magazine in their analysis of Missouri is the manufacturing sales and use tax exemption that was passed after much hard work by Associated Industries of Missouri in 2007. Although the Missouri Department of Revenue has eroded the application of that exemption through the years, it remains a very attractive exemption for manufacturers and producers.
Other reasons for the ranking include the “Best in Midwest” initiative, which AIM also supports.
