Missouri House finalizes passage of Right to Work legislation

The Missouri House Wednesday gave final approval to legislation that will allow workers to decide whether or not they want to become part of a labor union.

By a margin of 92-66, the House Truly Agreed and Finally Passed HB 116 & 569, so-called “Right to Work” legislation that had passed the State Senate early Tuesday evening. The legislation was handled in the House by Rep. Eric Burlison (R-Springfield). This marked the third year he had handled the main “Right to Work” bill.

The bill now moves to the Governor’s desk where it faces an almost certain veto. Lawmakers will most likely take up an effort to override the governor’s veto during the veto session in September.
