Associated Industries of Missouri (AIM) president Ray McCarty will participate Wednesday evening in a public discussion on tax cutting legislation.
Dubbed “A Tale of Two Tax Plans”, the panel discussion is scheduled for Wednesday evening at 6:30 at the Inman E. Page Library on the Lincoln University campus. The evening is co-sponsored by AIM and the Missouri Association of Social Welfare’s (MASW) Central Missouri Chapter.
Four panelists will discuss current tax bills now being considered by legislators at the State Capitol.
The panelists include:
AIM president Ray McCarty
State Representative T. J. Berry (R-Kearney)
State Representative Judy Morgan (D-Kansas City)
MASW statewide director Jeanette Mott Oxford
The panel will discuss Rep. Berry’s House Bill 1253 which cuts taxes on all businesses by 50% over a period of five years of state fiscal growth, as well as Rep. Morgan’s bill, that is yet to be filed, that the representative is touting as progressive tax reform.
The panel will explain their bills, discuss the merits of each, and take questions from the audience.
Light refreshments will be served.
