Business leaders from around Missouri gathered this week in Jefferson City to discuss and share information on how to grow manufacturing in Missouri.
The 2013 Missouri Manufacturing Excellence Conference and Tax Cut Rally featured more than a dozen speakers on topics ranging from intellectual property protection to international shipping to avoiding workplace injuries.
One of the highlights of the conference was Wednesday morning’s breakfast where conference attendees heard from Missouri Senate President Pro Tem Tom Dempsey and Speaker of the House Tim Jones only hours before their chambers took votes on overriding the governor’s veto of historic tax cutting legislation sponsored by Associated Industries of Missouri.
Missouri businessmen and women also had a chance to make their voices heard to state legislators during a Tuesday night reception at AIM’s headquarters.
“The conference was a complete success,” said AIM president Ray McCarty. “Any time we can get business leaders together in one place to talk about current trends and the future, that is time well-spent.”
“And to give the conference attendees access to our political leaders was a special bonus.”
In case you missed the conference, we will be posting videos of the presentations to our website through the next couple of weeks, and look for a complete wrap up in next week’s E-Voice.
