For the third consecutive year, Lieutenant Governor Mike Kehoe will be promoting Buy Missouri Week throughout the state, October 10th through October 17th. As designated by the legislature, Buy Missouri Week is designed to encourage citizens to purchase Missouri-made products in support of local producers and manufacturers.
“Buy Missouri Week promotes products manufactured right here in Missouri,” said Kehoe. “When we buy Missouri-made products, we support our friends, family and neighbors who work at and own these businesses. One of the most important lessons we have learned during this challenging time is that Missouri must be resilient and self-reliant, which is why it is important to continue promoting and growing the Buy Missouri program.”
Associated Industries of Missouri has supported the "Buy Missouri" program since its inception.
"The Buy Missouri program helps consumers identify products that are made by their friends and neighbors and other fellow Missourians," said Ray McCarty, president and CEO of Associated Industries of Missouri. "It is the best form of economic development, helping Missouri consumers support our state and local economy."
Governor Mike Parson pioneered the Buy Missouri initiative as lieutenant governor in 2017. McCarty joined then Lt. Gov. Parson on a tour around the state promoting the program. While in the Missouri Senate, then Senator Kehoe, sponsored Senate Bill 891 establishing the Buy Missouri program and Buy Missouri Week. It was signed into law having received overwhelming bi-partisan support in both legislative chambers.
“I encourage Missourian’s to follow along during Buy Missouri Week as my office highlights the incredible stories of our great Missouri products, businesses and manufacturers.”
