Earlier this week the Edison Electric Institute (EEI) presented KCP&L with the association’s “Emergency Assistance Award” for its work assisting customers impacted by Hurricane Harvey in August 2017 and Hurricane Irma in September 2017.

KCP&L dispatched more than 450 full-time and contract employees to assist restoration efforts in Houston and Florida following two of the most devastating hurricanes in American history.

“The destruction left in the wake of Hurricane Irma was truly daunting and required an enormous amount of dedication, logistics, cooperation and hard work,” said Kevin Noblet, KCP&L’s vice president for delivery. “We take great pride in accepting this award and knowing the number of people that we were able to help in a time of crisis.”
