Visit KC, a Kansas City tourism and hospitality organization, announced that eight major conventions are booked in the city in the following years. The conventions are estimated to bring more than $32 million into the local economy.
One of the larger bookings is Scentsy, Inc., a direct selling company of home and personal fragrances. This event alone will drive an economic impact of more than $6.6 million. It is scheduled for July 2017.
“Our new streetcar, affordability, arts and culture, culinary scene and sports teams are creating nationwide buzz,” said President & CEO Ronnie Burt. “The investments of our partners in and around the city are getting attention. Our sales team is laser focused on performance and driving results. We are thrilled that visitors, meeting planners and convention attendees are taking notice.”
The bookings represent sports, religious, education, multi-cultural and multi-level marketing segments. Other organizations with scheduled events include: USA Weightlifting, Privilege Institute, LIFE Leadership, Enactus, United Methodist Church, Watt Global Media, and ACPA College Students Educators International.
