Legislation that would bar unions from automatically withholding dues from public employees’ paychecks is on its way to the governor’s desk.
The Missouri House on Thursday gave House Bill 1891 final passage by a margin of 109 – 49. The 109 votes is a so-called veto proof majority. Governor Nixon is expected to veto the bill. On Tuesday, the Missouri Senate voted 23-7 to pass the bill. The 23 vote level also makes the bill veto proof on the Senate.
The so-called paycheck protection bill, would only apply to public sector workers.
