On December 11, 2018, Associated Industries of Missouri hosted a video webinar in our studio featuring Keith Sonderling of the U.S. Department of Labor regarding a voluntary disclosure and payment program called the Payroll Audit Independent Determination (PAID) program.

The program allows employers to correct overtime and minimum wage violations BEFORE they are found by the government. If you self-audit and find a problem with unpaid or improperly calculated overtime or minimum wages paid to an employee, the program allows a process for your to pay the worker and avoid penalties. But it is extremely important that you follow the process outlined in the webinar.

We hope you will have your HR manager or other person responsible for your payroll watch this informative video. This program is a win-win for employers and employees because it allows employers to correct mistakes without penalty and allows employees to get their properly due pay faster.
