Economy adds 157K jobs in July, unemployment down to 3.9 percent

The U.S. economy added 157,000 jobs in July. There have been job gains for 93 straight months.

The unemployment rate fell to 3.9 from 4 percent in June.

After revisions, job gains have averaged 224,000 a month over the past three months.
