Columbia’s Regional Economic Development Inc. (REDI) has been recognized as an Accredited Economic Development Organization (AEDO) by the International Economic Development Council (IEDC).
Columbia REDI is one of only sixty economic development agencies around the world to attain this accreditation. Missouri is home to four organizations that have been recognized as an AEDO. The accreditation process requires both a documentation review and an on-site visit from the IEDC.
“REDI displays the professionalism, commitment, and technical expertise that is deserving of this honor,” said IEDC President and CEO Jeff Finkle.
REDI has assisted in Columbia and Boone County’s economic development by helping both attract and retain businesses, as well through its work in entrepreneurial development. It will reach its 30th anniversary in 2018.
