Boeing wins $9.2 billion Air Force contract expected to boost St. Louis plant

The U.S. Department of Defense on Thursday awarded Boeing a $9.2 billion contract to produce a new Air Force training jet. Boeing has said it would manufacture the jet in St. Louis County. The production of the aircraft would support up to 1,800 jobs.

The award will fund 351 T-X jets, 46 simulators and accompanying ground equipment. The contract is expected to run through 2034.
