March 16, 2022- The Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner (BCLP) law firm has announced that it is concluding operations in Moscow in response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The firm is showing support for the people of Ukraine.
The firm's attendance in Moscow is about 200 which includes 17 partners. BCLP's work in Russia began years ago in 2009 when it was then known as as Berwin Leighton Paisner. They then formed a partnership with Andrey Goltsblat who was a former partner of the biggest full-service law firm in Russia.
BCLP announced they will be stopping and transitioning client work in accordance with their legal and professional obligations, and will not accept any new mandates from state-owned entities in Russia or related individuals.
BCLP also mentioned that the wellbeing of their people continues to be a concern to them as they make this difficult decision to part ways under unpleasant circumstances. BCLP emphasized the importance of standing with the people of Ukraine and recognized the loss of life and long-term impacts that this conflict will have on a global level.
