Associated Industries of Missouri Board of Directors Meets
The Annual Meeting and Fall Board Meeting of Associated Industries of Missouri was held yesterday at the AIM headquarters in Jefferson City, MO. The state’s top business leaders were represented as the organization, which has represented the interests of employers since 1919, met to discuss the legislative successes of 2014 and to discuss legislative priorities for 2015. While many topics were discussed and the agenda will continue to evolve as members bring issues forward, the group will pursue changes in tort reform; changes to protect employers from frivolous whistle-blower and discrimination claims; provide incentives for science, technology, engineering and math graduates to work for Missouri employers; establish some check and balance between the legislative and executive branch in tax administration issues; and will pursue several tax issues that were vetoed by Governor Nixon during the 2014 legislative session.
