The U.S. Air Force will request funds for eight new F-15X fighter-bombers from Boeing. This could boost production in the St. Louis facility. The purchase will be proposed in the Air Force’s fiscal year 2020 budget, which is expected to be submitted around March 11, as the first of a potential 80-plane purchase over the next five years.
