U.S. import prices remained unchanged in July. A strong dollar is likely keeping inflation for imports in check.

The U.S. is no longer importing disinflation,” Ryan Sweet, a senior economist at Moody’s Analytics, was quoted as saying in Reuters. “However, growth in import prices will be limited by the recent appreciation in the U.S. dollar, which affects nonfuel import prices with a lag.”
