Want to do business with the government? Missouri PTAC events may help

The Missouri Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (MO PTAC) are sponsoring events in April designed to help your business do business with government.

Writing a winning proposal for government contracts, Tuesday, April 19, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Cape Girardeau County MU Extension Office, 684 West Jackson Trail, Jackson; and Thursday, April 21, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Greene County MU Extension Office, 2400 S. Scenic Ave, Springfield. Specialists from the Contracting Education Academy at Georgia Tech, recognized leaders in contracting, will help you understand the standard forms used in government solicitations, review all format requirements, how to best introduce your organization, restate the scope of work in deliverables and requirements, assess evaluation criteria and minimum requirements and develop a fair price, among other issues. Cost is $75.

Are you a good negotiator? Tuesday, April 26, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Cape Girardeau County MU Extension Office, 684 West Jackson Trail, Jackson; and Thursday, April 28, Greene County MU Extension Office, 2400 S. Scenic Ave., Springfield, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Learn how to successfully negotiate a contract with the federal government. Specialists from the Contracting Education Academy at Georgia Tech will cover fair and reasonable pricing and cost analysis; negotiation steps, styles and techniques; preparation; bargaining tips; and much more. These sessions will include a real-life contract negotiation exercise. Cost is $75.
