Manufacturing Day is almost here. Is YOUR community ready?
To sustain this important industry in our state and our communities, manufacturing companies need to attract the next generation of workers to fill in-demand and vacant jobs. Did you know more than 25 percent of the manufacturing workforce is positioned to retire within the next 10 years and that less than five percent of the manufacturing workforce is between the ages of 18 and 29?
Manufacturing Day is the perfect time to expose youth in YOUR community to this growing AND changing industry. No cost MFG Day banner requests are due SEPT. 6!
How do I know which manufacturers are holding events? A great way to find out is to check the national Manufacturing Day site. And please note, it is updated daily. If you are holding an event, it is extremely important to register it on the national site. Also, click here to see the companies, communities and organizations who celebrated last year.
What else can I do to make it an official event and elevate the importance? Your county commissioner, city mayor or other local official can issue a proclamation for Manufacturing Day and issue a press release. Your local official can download a fillable proclamation from our page.
