A Springfield solar company announced Monday it’s adding 30 new jobs thanks to a corporate tax rate cut championed by President Donald Trump.
According to a press release, Sun Solar employed about 100 people at the start of 2018, 17 percent of whom are U.S. military veterans. The release said Sun Solar wants to increase that percentage to 25 percent.
The company said it’s already hired 15 new employees and is planning on moving into a new company headquarters in north Springfield in May.
The release said the company is also planning to expand its operations in the Kansas City area.
According to the release, this expansion is because the corporate tax rate is being slashed from 35 percent to 21 percent.
