From National Association of Manufacturers: Retail Sales Rose In February

ABC World News (3/13, story 6, 0:25, Sawyer) reported, “More good news for the American economy. … Retail sales jumping by 1.1%, the biggest spike in five months.”

Bloomberg News (3/13, Woellert) also reports on the Commerce Department’s retail sales report, noting that “an improved job market and stronger household finances cushioned the effect of higher payroll taxes. The 1.1 percent advance was more than forecast and followed a revised 0.2 percent gain in January,” exceeding the median 0.5% rise forecast by 82 economists Bloomberg surveyed.

Also covering the story are the Wall Street Journal (3/14, Cronin, Banjo, Subscription Publication), the AP (3/14, Crutsinger), Reuters (3/13, Mutikani) and other media sources.
