The Kansas City Business Journal reports AIM Chairman’s Council member Cerner Corp. and Nevada, Mo., have unveiled the next iteration of their joint “Healthy Nevada” initiative: launching a prescription drug monitoring program (PDMP) in the rural Southwest Missouri town.

Based on the successes of Cerner’s Healthy Nevada initiative, Vernon County and its seat, the town of Nevada, signed legislation for the launch of a PDMP on Wednesday.

The PDMP is designed to help fight prescription drug abuse when patients obtain prescriptions from more than one doctor for the same drug.
