Are You Prepared To Meet DoD Cybersecurity Requirements?

If you are a supplier to the Department of Defense (DoD), DECEMBER 31, 2017 is the deadline for you to be compliant with minimum cybersecurity requirements or risk losing you DoD (and other government agency) business.

The General Services Administration (GSA) and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) also have similar cybersecurity requirements that must be met by year’s end. (See the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement – Section 252.204.7008 for the complete explanation).

If you aren’t in compliance, now is the time to be proactive and to help you take an important step in the right direction, Missouri Enterprise is sponsoring a Cybersecurity Workshop and Readiness Assessment Program.

The standards that companies must meet are outlined in a publication from the National Institute of Standards and Technology(NIST Special Publication 800-171) and fall into 14 categories with specific requirements in each. The categories, which will be explored thoroughly during the 4-hour workshop are:

  1. Access Control

  2. Awareness & Training

  3. Audit & Accountability

  4. Configuration Management

  5. Identification & Authentication

  6. Incident Response

  7. Maintenance

  8. Media Protection

  9. Personnel Security

  10. Physical Protection

  11. Risk Assessment

  12. Security Assessment

  13. System & Communications Protection
