Former U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft addressed the “2011 Show Me Leadership Event” hosted by Associated Industries of Missouri on January 12, 2011. Also addressing the crowd were the leadership of both parties in the Missouri House and Senate and many legislators also attended the event. Of interest is his mention of the uncertainty created by government and its impact on business leader’s ability to create jobs. His comments hold true today, as business leaders still must hold back on hiring and expanding to see if resources will be needed to meet the never-ending stream of new government regulations.
