AIM members helping employers get back to work

May 1, 2020 - Associated Industries of Missouri is ready for Missouri's economy to reopen and get back to "normal" as soon as possible. Governor Parson's plan to reopen the Missouri economy will begin Monday, May 4, 2020.

As employers reopen facilities, employers head back to work, and customers begin to visit our businesses, safety is top of everyone's mind. We all want to do this right. To that end, a couple of our members have let us know they are providing services that may be helpful to your business as you work to reopen beginning next week.

INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE

TRC Companies has seen a significant uptick in requests for industrial hygiene (IH), safety, building assessment, and data management services by our U.S.-based industrial, commercial, transportation, and government clients responding to the COVID-19 outbreak.  Some of these services are summarized below:

  • Emergency response inspection and sampling

  • Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) testing for biological residue on surfaces

  • Cleaning protocols and 3rd-party verification of cleaning

  • OSHA and CDC compliance monitoring and audits

  • Building & critical asset inspections

  • Recommendation and guidance on personal protective equipment (PPE)

  • Cleaning and disinfecting

  • Standard Operating Procedures development

  • Awareness training (remote if needed)

  • Microbial assessment and hazard identification

  • Microbial remediation design and oversight

  • Mobile data tool: cloud-based information management system offering real-time access to evolving project information

It is important to note that TRC is testing for the presence of biological residues and microorganisms consistent with CDC standards.  We are not testing for COVID-19 specifically or certifying pathogen-free spaces.  COVID-specific testing is still evolving, and focused in the health care arena.

TRC has been developing cleaning protocols for companies that need to decontaminate assets ranging from office spaces to vehicles.  We typically work with cleaning contractors and provide oversight and then sample according to established protocols.  Our Mobile Data Solutions App allows us to enter the results immediately and upload into a client predetermined format and is instantly available using cloud-based technology.  This provides independent, third-party data collection per sampling event and documents specific areas tested with GPS location and photographs.  There are multiple options on what can be reported and sent, and it is easily adaptable. For more detail, please see the attached service sheet/brochure.

If your company can benefit from the industrial hygiene services listed above, please contact Melissa Hart, Senior Client Services Manager & Market Director, TRC Companies at mhart@trccompanies.com.
